Washington Jr. High School has an outstanding tradition of excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics.  This tradition of excellence doesn’t happen by chance.  Washington has always been fortunate to have ambitious, goal oriented students, exceptional parent and community support, and a staff that is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure success for all of our children.  I am so thrilled and very honored to serve as Principal for WJHS.

I began my career in education in 1989.  During that time, I have served as a teacher, coach, and since 1997, in various administrative positions at both the building and central office levels.

The mission that we have collaboratively developed at WJHS challenges us to be about more than test scores.  We strive to operate in The Wildcat Way.

The Wildcat Way can be summarized by the following statements:

·         Our commitment to our CORE values of Collaboration, Observation, Relationships, and Expectations drive all of our actions.

·         We frequently employ a purposeful Focus on Excellence framework in which we continually strive for improvement.

·         Everything that we do is designed to develop “Wildcats” which we define as students that are Welcoming, Involved, Leading, Dependable, Cooperative, Teachable, and Serving.

I hope that you enjoy this blog and find it a useful place to learn more about our school and the students that we happily serve.
