Ed Tech Tuesday-The Basics

Jared Jones led our first Ed Tech Tuesday meeting this morning and got us started with the basics of using texting in class through Cel.ly, using the Socrative website to get immediate student feedback and notetaking via the web through Evernote.  If you missed today's meeting, check out the tutorials below.  Also, mark you calendars for July 9 for the next ed tech opportunity when we will be learning online presentation methods like Prezi.

Culture Club

Karma Chameleon...The Culture Club has begun.  The inaugural meeting took place today with a cookout by the pool. We discussed our desire to foster a sense of family and teamwork at WJHS this year.  By organizing events for the staff that help us get to know each other and spend time together in fun activities, we hope to build a culture of support and healthy interdependence.  Basically, in layman's terms, we just want to get together and have a good time while supporting our school and each other.  If you are a part of the WJHS staff and were unable to be here today and would still like to be a part of the planning and organizing, we would love for you to join us for our next meeting on Friday, August 2, at On the Border from 3:00-5:00 where we will solidify the first quarter activities.

New HVAC and Hallways!

As you can see by this photo,
WJHS is undergoing some massive renovations right now including some much needed work on our HVAC systems.

After that work is completed, in addition to our improved air conditioning, we’ll basically be getting new hallways (fresh ceiling tiles and grid, new lighting, paint, and new base boards)!

We’re approaching the 2013-14 school year like we’re opening a new school.  Figuratively AND literally.

Go Wildcats!
